Home Redecorating Part One

I was getting tired of some of the old office decor so I did what any DIY lover would do and I redecorated. I don't have pictures of what it looked like before, but trust me when I say it looks a little better. Both of the "M"s in the picture frames are from some wooden words I had in the past. I was getting a little tired of the them so I pulled them apart and am now using the "M" for Morris in the my own art pieces. I usually use only paper in picture frames but decided to use fabric. I simply hot glued the fabric to scrapbook paper and stuck it in the frames. I don't know where I would be in life today if I didn't have a hot glue gun and scissors. What did people do before hot glue??? If anyone knows I'd love for you to tell me.

HERE IS THE SOUTH WALL . . .

My mother-in-law gave me this fabric for Christmas as well as a sewing machine. How nice right??

After I decorated the room I was inspired to make this pillow, which is now for sale in Adornmegirl. I think I want to make another one and incorporate honeysuckle pink into it somehow. What do you think?

The East Wall . . .

My husband and I share the office. He has "his side" and I have "my side" (yes I know we are like children sharing a room). He studies and works in there occasionally and I sew and make everything else there, like my Adornmegirl orders.

Lately I have loved gallery walls and wanted to make a few displays around the house myself. I decided to use some lovely pictures of my grandparents. They are my mom's parents and are both not living anymore. I never met my grandfather. He died at a very young age and my mom was only three- years-old. I have heard amazing stories about him and I can't wait to meet him someday. My grandmother passed away about five years ago and was one of my dear friends. She was pretty freakin cool too. She did just about everything in life, from modeling to becoming a pilot. That's right she used to fly planes. I could go on and on!

Anyways. . . I also ran into this awesome graphic designer on Etsy Valentina Design. I loved all of her art! I decided to buy her "Create" print for the center of the wall. Isn't it perfect for a place where creation happens? She also sent me a couple of free prints along with my order. I loved them so much that I framed them as well!

Art piece also by Valentina: It says, "The day you decide to do it is your lucky day."

If you think about it that is SO TRUE!

I know you all want to see close-ups of the pictures of my grandparents so here they are . . .

My cute grandpa's navy picture.

My grandma doing some modeling in New York!

One of her bridal pictures. Stunning!!!

Alright, I want her dress, shoes, veil and everything. This picture is my favorite!

The Living Room Wall . . .

As soon as I saw this . . .

I had to do this . . .

It has really spiced up our living room and is a conversation piece.

Has anyone else done anything like this? I'd love to see!

My next post will be the redecorating of my kitchen!!
